A UDP PDU can be 64 kB, but that will certainly get fragmented as it travels over the network. The receiving manager may not support packets that large either. UDP is not a reliable protocol, so adding packet fragmentation on top of that might be asking for trouble. Using informs instead of traps help, as the agent will resend a few times if confirmation is not received. If the data is important, then a smaller inform to the manager, indicating it needs to read the data, would be safer.
