But no "Makefile"?   Strange....
That would trigger running "config.status", though - since this is the
command which creates the Makefile.

Ah!   Those last couple of lines weren't in your earlier report.
That would certainly trigger re-running config.status.

But I'd expect to see more lines of output there.
There's no mention of 'local', 'testing', 'man' or 'mibs' Makefiles,
nor of net-snmp-config or net-snmp-config.h
(which *were* included in your earlier report).

It sounds as if something has changed with your configuration.
I'm confused.
