Subject: Dancing icons, netatalk-1.4b2+asun2.1.3-2

We've been running netatalk for 8 months on a Redhat 6 2.2.12 smp system,
and have noticed some of directories have dancing icons when viewed from
the Mac (MacOS 8.5+). Whether in list view or icon view, these
directories of usually several hundred files, jump. A file will be there
then not, then there then not. We have roughly 17,000 files spread across
24 AppleShare volumes, and maybe 20 of 1,000 directories displaying this
behavior.

If you can click and grab fast enough and move a dancing file to another
folder, the original folder is still dancing and the folder you moved the
previously dancing file is no longer dancing. Moving all the files to a
new folder sometimes resolves the problem, but it seems only temporarily,
until later that same day or following day.

The permissions/owner/groups of the folders and files doing this are the
same of others that don't do it. The same is true for the .AppleDouble
directories. The files don't seem to do the same in a shell, I can
consistantly 'ls' and 'du -s' the directory and get the same results -
(Multiple MacOS Finder 'Get Info...'s on the folder returns different
results - file count and size).

We have not been able to determine exactly what conditions will cause the
dance, but usually the folder contains several hundred files
(Illustrator, eps's, fonts, typical graphic files).

The netatalk installation was done via the
netatalk-1.4b2+asun2.1.3-2.rpm. We've not noticed any other problems.

Anyone have any ideas?
