hi there !

i've a pentium 266 box with 2 x promise ultra66 ide controller
and 4 x 37gb ibm ide disks configured as raid5 for data and
a old 9 gb seagate barracude disk for system & swap. 128mb ram,
networkcard is a dec 100mbit (tulip) card, and network is
switched 100mbit.

we got also transfer with rates about 8-9 mbyte per second :)

we also have a much bigger dual p3-450 box running nt 4 with
services for macintosh. but with this we only get about 3-4
mbyte per second. this is because nt 4 don't only supports
appletalk over tcp/ip.
