Now, seriously, *LINUX* will work much better than NT on almost ALL fronts,
with the exception of the appletalk/IP support, in which case the aliases
are broken, and the software is in beta. Now, in all fairness, I *DO* use
netatalk in my home office environmnet on various test servers, and I have
never encountered data loss, as it is described by yourself, or others.

This leads me to believe that this could be a configuration issue, or it
could have something to do with running it under SUSE (not sure about that).
Have you installed the RPM version, or have you compiled and installed it
yourself from the latest version?

As an alternative, you might want to consider running SAMBA and installing
DAVE on the Macs - which allows them to access SMB shares natively.
