In a series of talks and discussions led by top international speakers and artists an interdisciplinary discourse is sought to open new pathways for exploring cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the metaverse, and their creative potential. The online symposium and exhibition explore the dystopian ghosts of cyberpunk, juxtaposing technological achievements with societal decay while also discussing the new realities and possibilities that are now emerging from that neural darkness. The CMA at HKUST (Guangzhou) promotes the interplay of media arts, technology, and research and exploits the most advanced technologies for creativity with a social impact. Composed of faculty members and students from diverse backgrounds, such as media arts and computing, the CMA’s ambition is to become a leading light for computational media and art practice and research. This event is the first of a series of annual events bringing together leading global talent.
