VIEW BY THREAD gaat in op verschillende thema's die De Geuzen
bezighouden en verkent de tactieken die ze inzetten voor hun
multi-visueel onderzoek. De tentoonstelling mengt werk vanaf de jaren
negentig tot nu: Digitaal werk, fragmenten en sporen van workshops,
tijdelijke archieven, diners, interventies en activistische campagnes.
Onderwerpen als de (representatie van) vrouwelijke identiteit,
verhalen van het archief en de ecologie van mediabeelden worden met
omtrekkende bewegingen benaderd; de praktijk van De Geuzen is
situationeel, speels en speculatief.
VIEW BY THREAD is an exhibition that looks at some of the key themes
running through De Geuzen’s practice and explores the tactics they
have employed in their unique approach to multi-visual research.
Featuring digital works, fragments and traces from workshops,
temporary archives, dinners, interventions and activist campaigns, the
show mixes visuals from the mid-nineties to the present. Circling
around themes of female identity, narratives of the archive and media
image ecologies, their practice is often situational, playful and
speculative.
