Could you perhaps save MESA from Rust? MESA is needed for 3d acceleration on Xorg IIRC. Recently Rust has invaded it. There will be no going back if it's allowed to continue.
Could you or your team fork that too? These people take working C projects, rip them down, replace them with Rust: and then claim that X project relies on "their type of (special) person" to even exist. But since I don't have this hardware, I need some help - at least for testing and troubleshooting (active maintenance would be even better). By the way, since Redthat recently killed my repos on freedesktop.org and refusing to allow new Xorg releases (major ones from master, instead of just minor bugfixing), we've been forced to go for full fork.
