It sounds like you're using the "state" module (libipt_state.so) compiled
from iptables 1.2.5 with the iptables 1.2.6 binary, and it's objecting to
the version mismatch.  When you upgraded to 1.2.6, perhaps you didn't
include libipt_state.so, so the old version is still lying around.
