No, I *think* he meant post XP that it could have used UDP.

AFAIK tracert has always used echo requests.

I personally think you should take Mr. Gibson's comments and propositions
with a large pinch of salt, however many others disagree.  Do read the
website and make up your own mind.  I'm hoping that we can avoid OS *and*
pro or anti Gibson arguments on what is a well behaved and rather useful
list.... we'll see :)
