I have seen multitudes of (whom I consider) real security people call this Steve Gibson everything from a sensationalist to 'highly misinformed'. One of those types that knows half of the story, and runs off with his hair on fire telling everyone that the sky is falling. He is right on some points, but not all. Again, this is from people who deal is high-level computer security for a living in high-dollar companies, three of which I know personally at rather large companies you might recognize (one is the Senior Lead Network Engineer at a very large ISP/Telco, one the Security/Network Engineer at a computer hardware manufacturer, the other Lead Computer Security Advisor at a well-known Canadian bank home office). (( I will not rename them here, in public, for risk of starting some sort of libel suit against them or me. I know, it sounds paranoid, but we all know it could happen in the state of the industry today. )) That is not to say that everything Mr. Gibson of grc.com is an idiot, he isn't. Just don't take everything on his website as gospel. That's all I wanted to say.
