This is a question of "general purpose"/"dedicated functionality".
It all depends. I'm still to see some linux box that can replace
a C12xxx or a Juniper M160. But of course these are the top of
the line products. A C2600 can easily be replaced with a linux box
with almost no money down and a superior performance.
