I think that I have added a couple of new non-teachers since half-term upgrades without problems.
Clearpoint does time out for me which I find a nuisance as I would like to have in running all day. My recollection is that it did not time out very quickly when I first started using it. Generally it performs reasonably quickly for me. I do not try to keep it clear. I learned this by spending 20-30 mins a day clearing mails when we first started with Clearpoint. Instead users have been told to forward the mailer daemon message to me if they want the message cleared. This has saved me a lot of hassle. General internet access performance can be quite poor at times - particularly from about 12 onwards until about 3.30 Richard Naylor -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of C Kerry Sent: 15 December 2005 14:15 To: [email protected] Subject: RE: passwords Hello Kevin We have had similar problems with adding new users since the last update to the servers. The help line assure us that there is a connection between the server update and losing the ability to add users. Contact them, though they still have not sorted our new users out, but at least it adds another person to the list of people highlighting the issue. Clearpoint could take over your life if you tried to keep it clear. I have discovered that it is less likely to time out if you access it outside school hours. For some reason, c2k did not anticipate the volume of activity there is but say that they are looking at ways of improving its performance! Once an e-mail has timed out, there appears to be no way of accessing that e-mail again. What about the wasting of time on Clearpoint?
