Subject: Laptops for C2k build
Have any of
you recently purchased a laptop to be built as a C2k workstation? I am
very loath to pay a C2k price of £989 for a laptop which sells on the Internet
for £500ish. I have contacted Northgate and they (obviously) will not
give me a make they will build, wishing only to sell their own (what’s
new?). First they gave me a spec, but when I sourced a HP laptop they
said they couldn’t guarantee it would build and it may then cost more
than £245 (first quote) to build it into a C2k station. They gave me a
spec well above the E500 (am using this to type this e-mail, which is already
built as a C2k station!) This is an unbelievable monopoly!
Any help gratefully accepted!
