Title: Message

Thanks Gerald, now I understand you saw a reply but couldn’t find the original posting.

I too was surprised to see the debate re-emerge. If you look at the date of the original posting (see below) it was posted in June 2005 so I guess Pat was responding to an old message.

However I think the question is still worth asking. Is netman helpful?

One request last year was for a web version. In response we set up a web archive but I think only a few people use it, the majority preferring to use the email version. I would propose to close the web version at the end of June unless anyone objects.

And just to update the stats number of members 75, over 80% of schools represented, number of messages posted to date 761.

David

Subject: Netman Review - Should it continue?

I am trying to gauge the support provided under the netman banner.

 I would be most interested to hear your comments on those areas of the C2K/L2K netman support (online and offline)  if you think it should continue?

Background to this review:

A year ago, at the ICT Coordinators Seminar held on Wednesday 23rd June 2004, it was agreed to set up the netman forum to:

* Act as a forum to formulate ideas and act as a Schools' Advocate.

* Provide increased information flow between schools

* Share good practice

* Share problems and solutions

We also agreed to review this in in a year and that time has now come around.

I will post a number of questions to netman in the next few days to gauge you views on the Strengths and Weaknesses of the forum and to ask for your comments. I'll prefix the postings with "Netman Review" to distinguish the review from other discussions. e.g.. "Netman Review - Strengths", "Netman Review - Weaknesses" etc.

We will base our decisions of the future of netman on your comments.

Some statistics to begin - number of members 72, over 80% of schools represented, number of messages posted to date 466.

David

Subject: Possible problems with sending messages

Have you had some problems with sending messages to the discussion server Gerald. If you provide a little more detail I’ll look into it.

Has anyone else experienced problems sending messages to the list ?
