There is a NetMeeting policy key you may find useful - when NetMeeting runs,
it checks for the key and then completely "loses" all audio ability for that
session if it's set. To reset it, change the key and restart NetMeeting.

The value you need is at:
  [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Conferencing\Policies]
NoAudio = 1 (to disable audio)

The attached .reg files (which can be double-clicked) toggle this setting
for you. Works with versions 2.1 and 3.01.

I'll chime in on this one too since I've noticed this as a new problem in NM
3.0. In 2.1 you could uncheck the mic and speaker boxes and other audio
apps would work, but the settings would get reset the next time NM started.
In 3.0 it remembers the settings, but doesn't allow any other audio (well,
at least WAV - CDs do play) even if the speaker box is unchecked. Since I
like to run NM in the background to be listed in the ILS this causes some
problems with other audio apps.
