Fran/Brian

I did some tests using OpenGL over NetMeeting several months ago and
finished up a bit confused :-)

I was using Hummingbird Exceed 3D to display OpenGLX on one machine and
then tried using NetMeeting to display these on another. In certain
circumstances this worked but in others I had the black screen situation
which you mention. My impression was that if you were running the OpenGL in
hardware on the video card then NetMeeting had a problem capturing this but
possibly worked correctly if the OpenGL was run in software. Might be
totally wrong though.

All I can say for sure is that I have seen a rotating 3D object in OpenGLX
being transmitted from one machine to another via NetMeeting. (but also
seen black screens :-( )

Not too surprisingly a rotating 3D object via NetMeeting across the network
was not exactly spinning at high speed as it would on a standalone machine
running internally on the 3D hardware. It also looked quite strange as it
rotated and was redrawn in bands. The static display was OK though.

I haven't pursued it further.

Regards
Dave

 From the release netmeet.htm

Known issues

"Sharing of Microsoft(R) DirectX(R), OpenGL, MS-DOS(R), graphics-intensive
games, and .avi files is not supported and might not function properly."
