Hello,
I just joined this list because I need help with
Netmeeting 3.01 I have been trying to set NetMeeting up to work on my LAN (
2 PC's client is win95 and the server is win98 ) But I can't seem to make a
connection because it says I'm calling my own computer.
How are
you trying to initiate the call (ILS, direct to IP, ICQ, MSN
Messenger?) My guess is that if this does work it can only work from
inside to out or inside to inside.
Well I have tried
connecting several ways first I tried connecting using IP to IP and also
using the MS Directory websearch page both with no luck then I have also
tried just connecting Offline using the computer name's for my PC no luck
there either.
How would I connect my
PC's in NetMeeting using ICQ? that is something I have not tried but I
don't think it would work either because both use the same IP but I could be
wrong.
My LAN use's Internet Landbridge Bridging software to
share 1 internet connection between both PC's and thus both PC's share the
same IP.
My question is it possible to use Netmeeting like I want
to do and if so can anyone give me some pointers on what I'm doing
wrong?
What is
the the LAN Bridge product -- a NAT, a proxy? Do you have a URL?
It is
generally possible to do what you want but only if the product you use has
special support for H.323 ( the audio/video protocol that NM uses). I use
Sygate (a NAT product) in the way you describe
I beleive it is a Proxy here is
the URL to their web site:
I have no idea if it supports
H.323
Tell me about Sygate is there a
demo/trial version? and whats their URL does it cost a lot?
Thanks
-Randall
