The most stable platform I've found for our ILS server is NT 4.0, SP3, & NT
Option Pack (which gives you IIS 4.0).

For what it is worth, the only way I could get this to work correctly was NT
4.0 with service pack 3. I tried with SP4 and SP5 and likely had the same
quirks that you did. What with the SP3 I have not had any problems.

        Well, problem is,
option pack complains, says 'not tested with SP4' and ILS also after
that,
and on top of that one installs SP4 again, so replacing the older
installed
and tested working) files with newer ones, that we don't know if
they work,

to give you an idea, look at the walkthrough for installing
sitesever =),
first this, then this and that etc , and if you do it wrong order it
won't
        work..

I'm asking because I get odd bugs, like some ppl get kicked
out/unlisted
when other people log in etc, so I guess I'm asking the order and
what
service packs (3 but not 4 ?) to install.

Or should one drop this alltogether and get win2k server, because
supposedly it's something in there that does this (and works)?
