I am going to Slovakia (.SK) this christmas, I hope to set my girlfriend up
with a camera & net meeting 3.01 & icq & the wonderful ICQ fix
so we can talk for $1.40 an hour (her intenet connection charge on
weekends) --and see each other also
I know european modem/net connections are not 'as fast' as here
questions- anyone do/done this? is video a possibility? at any reasonable
rate?
and what settings (other than the audio compression tweak) should I
consider?
I expect the bottleneck to be her ISP & phone conditions..
WORST case scenario-- is it possible to use my computer & modem to call
hers directly (bypassing internet) for videophone calls??
(at my long distance rates, I know-- but adding video it would be better
than just talking)
(i was amazed I could not find this feature in net meeting-- unless-- could
I use Dial Up networking to make my computer my own two computer intranet
with ip connections?)
