Hi all,
I have been listening and learning from the
many postings to this list for a couple of
weeks now, and have found this list to be
very useful and informative for learning about
the different applications to which NetMeeting
is applied. I take my hat off to Brian Sullivan
for running a well focused and interesting
mailing list.
I thought I would bring to the list's attention
a new site that I have launched which implements
NetMeeting as an integral component. The site
is at http://www.conflab.com/ and is designed to
be a private conferencing facility which enables
people to establish direct IP to IP connections
regardless of whether they are using static or
dynamically assigned addresses. The site allows
people to meet up and initiate calls without
using directory servers or proprietary software
to flag each other's address or presence online.
The goal of the site is to provide a family
friendly secure environment where old and young
alike can meet for online calls without having
to hunt through lists of dubious aliases or
receive unwanted calls from strangers.
I hope this new service may be of some interest
or value to some of the people on this list. Of
course the site works best with up to date versions
of Internet Explorer and NetMeeting, though it will
also help Netscape users of CU-SeeMe, Intel Video Phone,
and iVisit similarly.
Regards to all,
Ewan McDonell
