Right you are, Brian. In fact, many times, in our own and others NM 3.01
installations, we found those above options ENABLED, apparently by
default....and that is NOT what MS's NM team should have done. That needs to
be rectified.

OTHER NM and related points:

Speaking of rectification, when are we going to see NM 4.0, that will
hopefully put back options that 3.01 and MS deliberately took away from us,
and add multipoint audio and video like 3 was supposed to of had?

And when the he** is ICQ going to fix the NetMeeting problems it still causes
us all, years later?

Also, related, possibly, to the ICQ/AOL problem, ICQ and AOL are now enabling
a "third-party" audio chat scenario -- via HearMe (http://www.hearme.com/),
that we have found to actually WORK pretty well.

BTW, we are told by reliable ICQ and AOL insiders that ICQ video chat is
almost ready, and that HearMe is working on compliant single and multipoint
video capability as well.

You can activate this Voice Chat on any Web site, and with this "wide-area"
HearMe, you don't HAVE to go to the ICQ HomePage just to have ICQ voice chat
activated.
BTW, putting/enabling HearMe on your web site is a heck of a lot easier, and
less problematic, than trying or putting NetMeeting capability on your web
site even though we all know the myriad options that NM offers.

In any event, regardless of NM being "free" or not, all the versions up to
and including 3.01 is and are hamstringing a great many of us users, our
clients and etc.
