Great to see so much discussion about this issue on here. For those of us who will make it to ISEA 2011 despite the fees, it would be great to have an alternative forum, perhaps a wiki, devoted to exchanging info regarding reasonably priced accommodation, events in the city, etc. I know the city fairly well, as I am sure many other participants do, and it would only make sense to network concerning hotel pricing and location, cheaper day trips, more exciting dinner experiences, and local contacts. It might even make sense to coordinate this with the Istanbul Biennale participants/attendees.
Any suggestions for how this might be best achieved?
