Hmm, now I don't know why I wrote that POLLPRI was returned, it should be POLLIN and that's what my test program currently shows on Nemo and non-Nemo devices. I probably just typed the wrong thing. Do you really see POLLPRI returned? You could poll for both, of course, but the puzzle here is that the behavior shouldn't have changed anyway.
If there is some circumstance wherein you will cause the provider to generate an M_PCPROTO message, such as by sending an DL_INFO_REQ, that will cause the stream to start reporting POLLPRI instead of POLLIN until you read the M_PCPROTO message. Polling for both events is one way to get past this.
