The VRRP project aims at implementing RFC 3768 - Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol Version 2, as well as the IPv6 implementation from Version 3, with the goal of providing High Availability on Solaris.
The project will provide a vrrp service and an administrative interface, and will also provide a set of API for other services to exploit. The Solaris Layer 3/4 Loadbalancing project will be the first user of the API. I'm proposing to make Project VRRP an OpenSolaris project and requesting your endorsement. Comments are welcome.
