I'm not completely sure, but I think I was just bit by this bug on my x4500
I put in the workarounds referenced at http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6432894 (MSIEnable=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0; in /etc/system and e1000g_dma_type=3 in kernel/drv/e1000g.conf) and so far the system has run for 22 hours without falling off the network. I can't find any documentation on what these magic incantations actually do, so your mileage may vary. MSI appears to be something about interrupt routing on multiprocessor systems, according to Intel's page. --Joe > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > Of Orvar Korvar > Sent: Tuesday, September 23, 2008 1:53 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [networking-discuss] e1000g interface > intermittent outages > > There seems to be problems with the e1000g NIC driver on b93 > and after.
