I see a bunch of bug reports cited in that second thread, including the builds in which they were fixed. Those should be a good starting point. There've been a number of problems with e1000g. The two big ones I've run into are the FMA problems (where the driver just goes offline and return ENXIO) and the checksum errors related to LSO. That former problem is CR 6687947, fixed in snv_91. The latter is CR 6727837, which was broken in snv_94 and hasn't been fixed, but which has a simple work-around. Which one you're seeing depends on the version you're running, the hardware you have, and the exact symptoms. There are multiple independent problems here.
