I see the same thing on OpenSolaris b98. e1000g0 drops out when Tivoli tries to make a backup--this is a lightly used file server, so backup is the highest network load it sees. The network comes back one hour later with the "ereport.io.device.stall" and "ereport.io.service.restored" log entries. I have a PRO/1000 PT (82572GI gigabit controller).
So... it looks like this issue is still around. I'm using the Marvell controller on the motherboard for now, but I'd rather get the faster Intel NIC working.
