It would help to see 'ifconfig' output on your host, and for you to verify
matching netmasks on the host and client. Also, maybe verify the forwarding.

On my Solaris 10 5/09 router,

marlton# ndd -get /dev/ip nge0:ip_forwarding
1
marlton# ndd -get /dev/ip e1000g1:ip_forwarding
1

marlton# routeadm
              Configuration Current Current
                     Option Configuration System State
---------------------------------------------------------------
               IPv4 routing disabled disabled
               IPv6 routing disabled disabled
            IPv4 forwarding disabled disabled
            IPv6 forwarding disabled disabled

Which makes sense, as I am using static routing

marlton# ls /etc/defaultrouter
/etc/defaultrouter

What I am seeing on both Solaris and OpenSolaris is that IPv4 routing is on by
default if there is no /etc/defaultrouter file.
