I am still with the same problem. A few updates that may be helpful.
1. I updated from SNV build 121 to 127.
2. I have two ethernet ports in my office and I have the same error
with either port.
3. Either ethernet port works just fine on my mac laptop. In fact, it
gets assigned my older IP address that had been with the Sun box for
nearly a year.
4. The ethernet address that the Sun box continues to try to get used
to be assigned to a MS 2000 Dell machine in the office, which unknown
to me since I never use it and it sits off was taken off of the
medicine domain while it was powered down.
5. The MS Dell machine gets an IP address in the office without a
problem.
6. The MS Dell machine is now back on the medicine domain and the
problem with the Sun persists.
I wonder if somehow the Sun thinks that address is still in use since
the MS Dell computer was removed from the system while off?
I had updated the OS because I had a complete lock-up that required
reboot prior to this problem starting. Note that the computer was off
for 5 days. I have not had it off that long in over a year.
This seems like a problem with the Sun computer since at least two
other computers can use the same ethernet ports and obtain an IP
address.
I have no idea where to take this from here. Any further ideas?
Thanks, Aric
