Both peers are indeed 1Gbps. Today I got hold of a good quality Netgear GS108T managed switch and repeated the tests. On your advice I reset the e1000g.conf file to its default configuration. There is no major difference in the latest benchmarks - they are practically identical. Considering that everything was running full speed before the OS upgrade, this strongly points to the e1000g driver. Here are some new stats from the server: andrewhar...@seraph:~$ kstat -m e1000g -i 0 XOFFs_Recvd 2 XOFFs_Xmitd 0 XONs_Recvd 2 XONs_Xmitd 0 Xmit_TCP_Seg_Contexts 116597 Xmit_TCP_Seg_Contexts_Fail 0 Xmit_with_No_CRS 0 The XOFFs_Revd and XONs_recd are markedly lower than before, but Xmit_TCP_Seg_Contexts is now non-zero. Should I start thinking about getting a different network adapter, or are there a few more things I can try?
