i don't understand why someone would do an httpd+my_module package and release. mod_ssl currently just releases versions tied to particular versions, but they don't do any bundling. the linux distributors are already going through some of these motions to distribute non-core modules. i don't think the solution is larger bundles, but smaller ones with clear dependencies. (debian's unstable has about 16 additional modules packaged, fwiw.) jim
