Dear Steve, thanks for your rapid reply. Spartan is a program I run on the
remote machine. Is the xterm-color package from Mandrake something you have
to install separately from the main Mandrake installation (I installed 5.3
and told it to install every option), and if so where do I get it or where
will it be stored on my machine? I think that is all I should need, since
the colour xterms with both Slackware and Red Hat 5.1 (using fvwm) worked
just fine with the remote machine. Tom
