readback support, I don't recall if 2.0.x included that.

No problem.  You can create the boot disk from another computer, the images
are on the CD.

Of course it's possible to only have Linux on your computer!  

For running Word and Excel, you'll probably have to keep your Windows
partition, unless you're willing to shell out a few bucks for VMware (or
wait for WINE to work...).  VMware works extremely well, but it's a tad
expensive.
