Hi, Martijn,

Assuming that your network card is on the list of supported hardware,
recompile the kernel to include support for your particular card.  When
you reboot the new kernel, your card should be automatically detected. 
Then configure the card, or more accurately, the interface, using
Network Configurator in the Control Panel.  OK, good luck, (Doei!)
