"Alt" + "SysRq" + "s" attempts to write all unsaved data to disk ('sync' the disk) to prevent file corruption. "Alt" + "SysRq" + "e" sends a termination signal to all processes, that is the same as killing every program running. "Alt" + "SysRq" + "i" sends a kill signal to all processes. If any processes are still running after the last key command this will clean up. "Alt" + "SysRq" + "u" remounts all systems in read-only mode. This is to prevent file system corruption.
