I have installed Redhat 6, but recently discovered the Mandrake distribution. I noticed that Mandrake distributed rpms are compiled for a 586 processor rather than a 386. Is it possible to upgrade an installed RH *.i386.rpm with the equivalent Mandrake *.i586.rpm file? Can this be done through GNOrpm or kpackage or must it be done at the command line with rpm -Uvh?
