I did say no. I had already run Norton's Scandisk and Disk Doctor earlier.
Disk  Doctor gave me the message you are referring to almost immediately. I
cancelled out. Later, I tried to boot Mandrake 8.2.  and I got the error
message I posted earlier so I came here to ask for advice.

I also tried Mandrake's Repair option and it said it couldn't fix my partion
table problem.

I tried to reinstall and I got to this screen:

Choose the petitions you want to format

hda 1{C:} (15MB, /mnt/win_Dos Fat16
hda 2 {D} (12 GB, /mnt/Win-2, Win98, Fat32, LBA-mapped

The options below are preselected

(400MB, /Journalised FS: Ext 3)
(50MB, Swap Linux Swap)

Could hda have been my bootloader? I only had 1 drive before I installed
Linux.

Any help you can give to staighten out this mess will be appreciated.
