I THINK you have to create the device with /sbin/MAKEDEV which I don't have a clue how to use. Maybe you can make sense of "man MAKEDEV"? I once had the same problem but couldn't figure out how to use MAKEDEV so I ended up reinstalling. Sorry I'm not much help. Sharrea -- oxymoron: Microsoft Works
