Well, near the beginning it says your X session is running with 8 bit colour 
depth. That is not going to be enough for MPlayer, hence the warning. Set 
your default colour depth to be at least 16 bit.

Also, you are not running mplayer as root are you? I just wonder why it is 
looking for /root/.mplayer etc  instead of ~/.mplayer
