I tried Tom's suggestion and tried installing from the CD-RW drive (which was used to burn the CD-R), and still got the same error.
I'm reasonably confident that the ISO image I downloaded was ok (I checked the md5sum). Is there any tools on Windows that will allow me to verify that the CD-R that I burnt is indeed ok (given the ISO image)? Thanks for any suggestions. BTW thanks for the response, Tom.
