Well, I did try InteractiveBastille (of which I never ran before - nor do I have a firewall on my computer) and noticed it never did ask me about limiting a file size.
However I did find out (thru InteractiveBastille) that /etc/security/limits.conf might be what is limiting file size. I changed a line which read; # limit size of any one of users' files to 100mb * hard fsize 100000 to * hard fsize 800000 with no luck, then changed to * hard fsize 800000000 still with no luck. I am wondering, do I have to actually enable Bastille to run in order for /etc/security/limits.conf to be read from during startup? I would hate to have to enable Bastille and have it mess up my currently stable running MD 8.2 (due to a Noob not knowing exactly what I should have answered during the questions InteractiveBastille asked me!!!) I have managed to download all iso's for 9.0 onto my wife's Windoze station, however I cannot transfer the iso files for CD's 1 and 2 across the network to my computer! I was able to transfer the md5sums file -AND- the iso file for CD #3 - which is only 400+mb... what gives? LOL (I have samba set up on my computer, and share mp3's with the home network. No problem transfering the iso file for CD #3, but when I attempt to transfer one of the other iso's, there is a looong pause, then this appears; "Cannot create or replace Mandrake90-cd2-ext.i586; The specified network resource or device is no longer available" If only everybody in the house had a cd burner, then I wouldn't have this problem! What else can I do short of removing my cd burner and installing it into her computer? (or even purchase the cd's from Mandrake...) BTW, I do not have separate partitions so that is not the problem.
