hi, i have a feeling that to repartition and stuff you will need to do an 'expert' install, any auto allocation by the installer will not take into account any partitions you wish to create for win, though it might leave existing ones alone, if you are going to wipe the win to reinstall then formatting them in the installer can't hurt, of course if you have something like partition magic or acronis then you can create ypur partitions beforehand and then install mandrake
