yeah, its a piece of cake.. install vncserver on the linux box, and download the win vnc package from the tightvnc website...
log on as the user that you want the session started as... then just run vncserver from a console prompt... I actually made a starting file.. called startvnc made it executable... in it I put the following: vncserver -geometry 800x600 -depth 16 :1 so it starts vnc with the specs I wanted.. Then if you start vnc client on windows. and point it to the IP of the linux box.. it will ask you for the password, and its all good from there.. very easy to setup.. regards Frank -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Anne Wilson Sent: Wednesday, 20 November 2002 3:23 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [newbie] running linux from a windows box via cygwin/XFree86 This sounds interesting. Where can I learn more about it? Is it reasonably easy to set up, as well as easy to use? Would it be an appropriate choice for tempting novices to try linux?
