[newbie] localhost?

I know I should know this, but, what do I need to do if localhost isn't being resolved correctly by my web browser? I'm running LM 9.0. I can't seem to use any of the browser based admin tools because Netscape 7.0 can't resolve localhost and dumps me into search.netscape.com which is of little use to me.
