[newbie] Dependency fail.

I am installing libglib-devel and it requires pkgconfig. I installed pkgconfig from source code. Now pkg-config sits in usr/local/bin. But kpackage still returns pkgconfig >=0.12 is needed. How can I make the system know that pkgconfig is already installed? I know this is a very primitive question. But please help.   Many thanks,   Wei
