[newbie] UserDrake problem

Whne accessing "Users" in the Mandrake Control Centr, I get a message: "Cannot lock usr lib, file /etc/ptmp or /etc/gtmp exist", and then cannot access any of the functionality.

The file /etc/gtmp exists; if I rename it, I still have the problem.

Any ideas?
