I have an ATI TV Wonder VE card that i'm having a bit of trouble with. I had this box running mdk 8.2/Win98SE before the card was installed. When I added the ATI tv card and an ATI Raedon 7000 video card I did a clean install with 9.0 to make sure all the hardware was detected properly and the correct modules were included. I did not load a dual boot system, I'm 100% linux on this box now. A couple of problems have popped up. First off, the video quality (using xawtv, zapping, motv...) is pretty IFFY. it's like the color saturation is turned WAAAYYYYY down, even when i adjust it to max. Also there is a lack of picture quality. It looks like a TV does when someone has a hair dryer running on the same circuit, lol. Before, when dual booting the video quality under windows looked just like my TV, but under linux it was degraded. Any ideas on a fix or is it just going to look this way? (lsmod output at end of message. If dmesg output would be helpful i can post that as well)
Another problem, when I try to capture video (using xawtv) i get capture - not supported. Is this a driver issue? Is it just not supported for this particular card? Do i have some missing software? I'm totally new to anything video4linux and any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Jerry.
