This does make sense cause it makes it difficult for M$ to make mplayer
unoperational by changing the standards, as it would have to become
incompatible with itself.  However I got the impression from somewhere
that the author of mplayer had started integrating the open source
aviplay project into mplayer.

I was talking about WMA streams.  Is there a difference? And my original
question was if anyone had gotten mplayer to play WMA streams off the
net.  ???

I'm interested cause I badly need to get some WM streams; mplayer seems
like the solution.
