I have DLed and installed user_mode_linux-2.4.19.5um-0.i386.rpm from http://user-mode-linux.sourceforge.net/ and have played with the tomsrtbt image. I am satisfied there. I am now wanting to install a distro from cd's inside UML. Basically i want to run RH 8.0 inside UML but not from a pre-made image from someone else. The reason is i havent messed with RH8 and want to play with it but i dont want to dedicate another system to it....yes i have like 15 computers but dont want to waste one on RH, HEHE. I have 12g free in /home, i have UML in /home/uml so noone has access to it except root. I have gone to UML website and it suggests gbootroot for creating this image. I am just confused on the use/installation of it. The homepage for gbootroot states that i just DL the rpm so i did. It required ash, perl-IO-Tty, perl-IO-Stty, perl-Expect....I installed those just fine from the cd's provided by the MDK9 distro. I then tried a test install of the gbootroot rpm and it came up witht he followingconflicts. Any thoughts on how i can get RH8 installed in UML? TIA Rob
